#67 Stone Calculator Guide
#67 stone is the smaller, more uniform sibling of #57 — washed crushed stone running from about 3/4 inch down to 3/8 inch, with most pieces clustering around half an inch. That tighter, smaller gradation makes it the standard coarse aggregate in ready-mix concrete and the go-to stone for pipe bedding and surround, where #57’s larger pieces can leave gaps too big for the job. This calculator uses its standard density of 1.45 tons per cubic yard.
Like #57, it’s washed clean of fines, so the estimating math is a straightforward volume-to-weight conversion — no compaction correction needed, because open-graded stone doesn’t meaningfully densify.

Where #67 Stone Earns Its Spot
- Ready-mix concrete: the coarse aggregate in most standard concrete mixes, chosen for its consistent, workable gradation.
- Pipe bedding and surround: small enough to nest closely around pipe without large voids, while still draining freely.
- Fine drainage layers: where #57’s bigger stones would leave openings too large for the filter fabric or application.
