Landscape & Construction Calculators

Project-first calculators for driveways, garden beds, and ground coverage — with realistic layer depths and compaction allowances already set, so you plan the whole job rather than one material at a time.

Asphalt Millings Calculator

Estimate recycled asphalt millings by the yard and ton for driveways that compact into a semi-solid surface.

Use Calculator →

Drainage Gravel Calculator

Calculate washed drainage stone for foundation drains, dry wells, downspout runs, and wet-spot fixes.

Use Calculator →

Driveway Stone Calculator

Pick the right stone grade for each driveway layer and get tonnage that matches the quarry scale.

Use Calculator →

Fill Dirt Calculator

Figure cubic yards and tons of fill for holes, trenches, and grade raises — with settling accounted for.

Use Calculator →

French Drain Calculator

Size the washed stone for your French drain trench, with the pipe's displacement already thought through.

Use Calculator →

Garden Stone Calculator

Work out how much stone your garden paths, bed toppings, and planting areas need in cubic yards and tons.

Use Calculator →

Gravel Driveway Calculator

Plan a complete gravel driveway — base and surface layers, tonnage, and cost per load.

Use Calculator →

Gravel Driveway Cost Calculator

Turn driveway dimensions into a material budget — tonnage first, then dollars at your local price per ton.

Use Calculator →

Landscape Rock Calculator

Compare river rock, pea gravel, lava rock, marble chips, and decomposed granite — with exact yardage and tonnage for each.

Use Calculator →

Patio Gravel Calculator

Plan the surface gravel for a patio that sits on a properly compacted base — yardage and tons per layer.

Use Calculator →

Road Base Calculator

Estimate base stone tonnage for farm lanes, private roads, and long gravel drives built in compacted lifts.

Use Calculator →

Shed Base Calculator

Size a level, compacted gravel pad for your shed — including the 12-inch border beyond the walls.

Use Calculator →

Stepping Stone Calculator

Work out how many stepping stones your path needs from its length, stone size, and spacing.

Use Calculator →

Stone Calculator for Landscaping

Estimate cubic yards and tons of decorative stone for garden beds, borders, tree rings, and yard projects.

Planning Materials by Project, Not by Pile

A driveway is not “some gravel” — it’s a compacted structural base with a clean surface course on top, each with its own depth and its own material. Project calculators encode those build-ups: the gravel driveway calculator defaults to a 6-inch total build, and the guidance on each page explains how to split that between base and surface stone.

Getting the depth right matters more than any other input. Two inches is plenty for a decorative bed but will rut in a week under car tires; six inches is right for a driveway but a waste of money on a path. When in doubt, use the depth pre-set in each tool — they follow standard landscape-industry practice.
